VERY SATISFIED - Åshild and Bjarne are happy that their dream of living in Spain has become a reality and they look forward to living the good life from their sunny balcony.
Åshild and Bjarne Heggset are two people who have found the recipe for the good life in Spain and at Alfaz del Sol. After renting a Plus Flat here on a few occasions, they now have chosen to buy a flat of their very own.
We really like the area, so last autumn we started looking at homes that were for sale. We ended up buying a Plus Flat because we were familiar with the concept and also because of the safety and service that come with the place, Bjarne explains.
For Åshild and himself, it was an added security that their home comes with a security system and that the apartment complex is located in a fenced-in area. One of the biggest factors when it comes to enjoying life here is the role that the hosts play at Alfaz del Sol.
The hosts are fantastic. They help us with the little things and the big stuff too, and they give us suggestions on everything from where to take a walk to which restaurants we should try. This makes it easier for us to get better acquainted with both our surroundings and our neighbours, says Bjarne.
THE GOOD LIFE AT ALFAZ DEL SOL
Liv realized her dream.
Liv Storeide always dreamed of moving to Spain after
she retired. In 2006, she fulfilled her dream and bought
a flat at the Norwegian Alfaz del Sol.
Ten years have passed since the Oslo woman took the big step and moved to Spain, which she has never regretted. She had many reasons for choosing to buy a flat at Alfaz del Sol in Costa Blanca.
- The facility is spectacular, with beautiful gardens that are looked after by a gardener, and we have a big swimming pool that is heated all winter long, the energetic pensioner explains. Every morning I get out my knitting and drink coffee while I relax and watch some breakfast TV. There are also guards here year-round. Even though I live alone, I still feel very safe.
The major advantage according to Storeide, however, is the service centre where she gets help with most things. The reception has two great hosts who help with all sorts of practical things like booking workmen, translating letters and ordering plane tickets. They also organise comfy nights in and outings. They do everything to make sure we live in comfort.
Storeide can say that she has travelled a bit in Spain, but that nothing compares to living in Alfaz del Pi. - There are several doctors and dentists here. With travel insurance or Spanish health insurance, we have nice private hospitals with interpreters. We also have a supermarket with all the products and grocery you could need. I also love this region because of its incredibly beautiful nature with high mountains, crystal-blue waters, spectacular beaches and lots of sun and warm weather all year round.
Storeide never gets bored and has made many new friends. - It's very easy to get to know people here and there's a long list of activities you can get involved in too. The Norwegian Club in Alfaz has a choir, knitting café, bridge, Spanish class, historical society, philosophy group, art group and photography group. The Club also has its own food and wine club and it organises bus trips around Spain with visits to bodegas twice a year. We also have the Norwegian Seamen's Church in Albir which offers many nice activities. I probably have a better social life here as a pensioner than I would have had in Norway.
Even though I don't drive, I have no problem getting around.
- Busses run every 15 minutes from the cultural centre in Alfaz del Pi to Albir, Altea and Benidorm. And it's very cheap to take a taxi. If I go to Norway, the flight is short and relatively reasonably priced which makes it easy for me to visit my family and friends several times a year, Storeide concludes.

Da svigerforeldrene til Roy Stian Gunnulfsen ønsket å kjøpe
en leilighet i Spania, var det for at hele familien kunne få
muligheten til å tilbringe deler av året i varmere strøk. En
leilighet på norske Alfaz del Sol, som ligger bare 45 minutter
unna flyplassen i Alicante, viste seg å være den beste løsningen
for alle parter.
Da familien ankom Costa Blanca nord for å se på boliger, tok de kontakt med en eiendomsmegler som viste dem flere alternative leiligheter i området.
-Mine svigerforeldre var på utkikk etter en leilighet som de kunne fungere i både høst, vår og vinter, og som vi kunne benytte på sommeren, sier Gunnulfsen. Vi syntes konseptet Alfaz del Sol var midt i blinken, blant annet fordi mine svigerforeldre kommer i kontakt med mennesker på sin alder som bor der på vinteren.
Han legger til: - Vi snakker ikke språket, så det er et stort pluss at det er et servicesenter hvor man kan få hjelp til alt mulig, og som organiserer mange aktiviteter som beboere kan bli med på. Ved tekniske behov i leiligheten, som rørlegger, elektriker eller renhold, bestiller servicekontoret dette for oss. Videre kan de ordne alle typer billetter, som for eksempel til et show i Benidorm eller til en fotballkamp i Valencia. De hjelper også med leiebil, matvarehandel og mer. Vertene på Alfaz del Sol gir en meget god service.
Leiligheten var også midt i blinken, og akkurat det de var på utkikk etter. -Det er norsk standard med varmekabler i gulvene. Leiligheten ligger godt til rette med god kveldssol, den har god utsikt og en stor terrasse. Det er enkelt å bevege seg rundt, og alle høyder er gjort tilgjengelig for både gåstol og rullestol. Området er avlåst med vakthold, og dette synes vi er veldig trygt.
Hele familien trives veldig godt på Costa Blanca nord, et område som byr på mange forskjellige aktiviteter. -Alfaz del Pi er en trivelig liten by, og Albir og Altea gir oss flotte dagsturer. Vi drar på utflukter i fjellene Benissa og Guadalest, vi drar på sjøen med vannscooter og båt, og vi nyter solen på strendene i Villajoyosa og Calpe. Dessuten har vi gode muligheter til å spille golf. Det er også mange flotte restauranter hvor vi spiser godt. Og vi har tilgang til mange aktiviteter for våre barn, som gokart, golf, vannland og zoo. Vi har alltid leiebil, så det er lett å komme seg rundt, avslutter Gunnulfsen.
